The biggest threat to the Donald Trump Show – viewer boredom Take heart America , the Donald Trump Show is rapidly approaching cancelation. Many have noted that the Trump presidency is more of a realty show than real governance. This observation is totally true. Donald Trump did not so much leave show biz to enter politics as move his Apprentice character to a new series, an “edgy” version of the West Wing on the GOP network. In an age where “edgy” series featuring central characters of dubious morals are the trend, it should be no surprise that the new show was a great success. Why and when a great slice of the American public started treating politics as another entertainment medium rather than a serious subject bearing on their reality is a separate question. The point for now is that it has, but the Donald Trump Show is no longer cutting edge. The show has grown stale, repeating the same old hackneyed themes: Hillary, Islamic terrorists, political ...

A serious message to Trump supporters: Trump is Boss Hogg, not Bo Duke The 80’s TV series the Dukes of Hazzard was successful partly because it tapped into America’s well know love of rebels, with two good hearted “good ol’ boys” standing up to a corrupt local political system run by Boss Hogg. Trump has successfully tapped into the same feelings, with his promises to “drain the swamp” and reverse “elitist” policies. These include globalism, that has encouraged the drop in relatively high paying American manufacturing jobs and promoting immigration, which is rapidly changing the “face” of America: to the discomfort of people who liked the face just the way it was. I can sympathize with the support of rebels. I can sympathise with concern over rapid changes that seem to benefit only a relatively small proportion of Americans while harming the rest. I can even sympathize with concern over letting in waves of immigrants who may change America , although I ...

Trump announces return to TV in reboot of Dukes of Hazzard “Just’a good ol’ boy, Never meanin’ no harm.” President Trump today announced that he is taking on a second job as Boss Hogg in an upcoming reboot the 80’s TV show The Dukes of Hazzard. “Preparing for the role is the reason I’ve deliberately been putting on weight” said the President. Boss Hogg will be given more sympathetic treatment than he was in the original series. The Duke clan will become the Hogg clan, with Trump as the beloved patriarch. “One of the few flaws I could see with the original was its disrespect for rich people” said Trump in justifying the change. “The show will be an important way to convey my new Presidential role, a rich old man who is above the law and runs the county, or country for his own profit, while his children terrorize it by driving at high speed and blowing things up,” said the President, “alt...

Donald Trump Proposes to Reintroduce Slavery in U.S. In a breath-taking bold move, President Trump has proposed to resolve the long standing immigration debate by re-introducing slavery. “It’s an stroke of genius that no one else could have thought of” said the President when announcing the policy. “It solves all our immigration problems”. “The slave program has the potential not only to solve illegal immigration but also to reduce the deficit” said the beaming President. The President says his inspiration was an alt-right blog post noting that the 13 th amendment did not really abolish slavery in the US , but rather confirms its use as a punishment for crimes. “My reaction was, I love it” crowed the President. Illegal immigrants would automatically be “enrolled” in the program when convicted, including people apprehended when crossing the border illegally (these people are currently returned to their point of origin and often...
